A hint of surprise from Jordie Barrett after learning of Rieko Ioane's decision to follow in his footsteps with an identical overseas playing sabbatical

The 28 year old Blues centurion will join Leinster on a short-term deal in December.

Barrett is currently at the Irish club - his stint comes to an end in June.

Barrett says Ioane sounded him out a fortnight ago about his experience so far - but claims he didn't get an inkling he was keen to chart a similar course.

    He's endorsed Leinster as a destination .
