India are set to resume at 5pm on 16 for one, after bowling the tourists out for 259.
Patrick Tuipulotu is taking the All Blacks captaincy in his stride as the lock prepares to lead the side out for the first time tomorrow.
He'll stand in as captain against Japan in Yokohama, with usual skipper Scott Barrett and his two vice-captains on an early plane to London.
Tuipulotu says leadership isn't all on his shoulders, with the likes of veterans Sam Cane and TJ Perenara around.
The Wellington Phoenix have left veteran English forward David Ball at home, to get some more game time into his legs.
The 34-year-old didn't travel to face the Glory in Perth on Sunday, and will turn out for the Phoenix reserves instead.
