The presence of former Silver Fern Kayla Johnson has boosted the Northern Mystics' confidence ahead of their Auckland derby

The presence of former Silver Fern Kayla Johnson has boosted the Northern Mystics' confidence ahead of their Auckland derby

Johnson filled in for the injury-struck defending ANZ Premiership champions in last weekend's loss to the Central Pulse, playing 10 minutes at centre.

Mystics midcourter Tayla Earle says Johnson has surprised since being brought into the team at short notice.

First centre pass is after 10 past four ... the Mystics seeking to snap a three-game losing streak and claim the second win of the season over their cross-town rivals.
