Maria copped criticism by association with her husband and his radical Christian views and his crowdfunding to help his legal fight against Rugby Australia.

Taurua says they held a meeting during the pre-World Cup four-team series in Auckland, to make sure everyone was on the same page.

She says it was managed quite well and there was a lot of love afterwards.
