Phoenix captain Annalie Longo is taking one positive from teammate Chloe Knott's decision to step away from her professional football.

Knott revealed on social media last week her values no longer align with the A-League club - also citing the challenges of balancing a fulltime job and part-time commitments.

Female players in the competition are deemed semi-professional - and Longo says Knott has started an important conversation.
