Lewis Hamilton's provided a gentle reminder to the runaway leaders he can still contend in Formula One

The seven time world champion - who's suffered a series of mechanical issues with Mercedes this season - has finished third at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

Max Verstappen won the race with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz in second.

Hamilton says to get back on the podium is encouraging.

Verstappen holds a 46 point championship lead over team-mate Sergio Perez who didn't finish in Montreal due to a gearbox failure.
