    Kiwi driver Ryan Wood has gapped the field in the first practice for Sunday's Bathurst 1000, but team mate Chaz Mostert has stolen the early headlines with a high-speed crash


    Wood's best lap was a staggering 2.2 seconds quicker than the time he set in the corresponding session 12 months ago.

    New Zealand drivers Matt Payne and Andre Heimgartner were also inside the Top 10 in Practice One.
