    An agonising defeat for Scott McLaughlin courtesy of his team-mate in the latest Indy Car series race in Texas


    McLaughlin secured a maiden win in the season opener and looked odds on to go back-to-back after leading for 186 of the 248 laps.

    However worn tyres allowed Josef Newgarden to manoeuvre his way to a victory by 0.06 of a second on the final lap.

    Newgarden has sympathised with McLaughlin on Sky Sport.



    McLaughlin is 28 points clear atop the championship standings.
