Scott McLaughlin is ruing a couple of missed chances after finishing second in the latest IndyCar race in Illinois

The Kiwi led the way with 17 laps remaining, before a quick pitstop from eventual winner Josef Newgarden saw the American sneak into first.

A crash with 8 laps to go saw the red flag signalled, before Newgarden got the jump on McLaughlin when racing resumed.

McLaughlin outlines what went wrong, on Sky Sport.

Compatriot Marcus Armstrong finished 8th, with Scott Dixon 11th.
