The Wellington Phoenix women's side has a halftime lead in its latest attempt to secure a maiden A-League win

The Wellington Phoenix women's side has a halftime lead in its latest attempt to secure a maiden A-League win

The scoring against Brisbane Roar in Wollongong opened in the 18th minute, on Sky Sport.

Just five minutes later Grace Jale successfully converted a Phoenix corner to double their lead.

The two goals followed a successful penalty save by the Phoenix's goalkeeper Lily Alfeld.

Brisbane has since responded with a goal of its own, with the Phoenix leading 2-1 heading into the second half.
