The Transport Minister says warning drivers of speed cameras ahead is the right thing to do -- but he's still committed to raising speed limits where sensible

The Transport Minister says warning drivers of speed cameras ahead is the right thing to do -- but he's still committed to raising speed limits where sensible

More than a hundred signs will be rolled out across New Zealand roads in the coming year.

Simeon Brown says speed cameras should be about improving safety, rather than raising revenue.

He says this doesn't contradict his view speed limits should be higher in some areas.

Simeon Brown says it's fine to have slower speeds around pick-up and drop-off in school zones, but it doesn't make sense to have a shift worker crawling to work at 30-kilometers an hour at four in the morning.
