Wellington will host next weekend's NPC final, after beating Waikato 29-24 in the capital to earn hosting rights for the big dance

The Lions held off the Mooloos, who led by two points at halftime, and will now meet Bay of Plenty on Saturday afternoon.

There's uncertainly over Aaron Cruden's future following the loss for Waikato.

The 35-year-old former All Blacks playmaker has told Gold Sport he'll take some time to think about his decision.
