Red Bull's Liam Lawson has finished second-fastest to Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, 0.132 of a second back, on the opening morning of Formula One testing for half the drivers in Bahrain

Red Bull's Liam Lawson has finished second-fastest to Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, 0.132 of a second back, on the opening morning of Formula One testing for half the drivers in Bahrain

The other half, including Lawson's world champion teammate Max Verstappen, are still in action.

Lawson spun at turn three midway through the session due to an over-correction after hitting the curb at turn two.

He had to return to the pits after flat-spotting his tyres.
