The first repair season has wrapped up for the North Island's State Highway One

NZTA contractors fixed 119 kilometres of roading through the central North Island.

It comes under the pothole prevention fund, which aims to condense four years of maintenance into two.

Transport Minister Chris Bishop says 32 contracting firms worked for more than 110-thousand hours.
