Messages between co-defendants have been revealed in a High Court murder trial, after an Auckland couple were killed in their Ellerslie home two years ago

Lok Fung Lorrence Li is accused of murdering North Shore orthopaedic nurse, Fuk-Fu Joseph Kwok - and his wife, Mei Han Chong.

Crown prosecutors claim the murders stemmed from a minor car crash between the 27-year-old accused and Kwok.

Messages between Li and co-defendant Shu Man Poon show the pair allegedly preparing for the crime.

They discuss acquiring duct tape, a gun, night-vision goggles, and handcuffs.

Poon is not on trial beside Li for reasons that cannot be currently reported.
