A media commentator says Sky's slump in profits isn't as dire as it seems

A media commentator says Sky's slump in profits isn't as dire as it seems

    Sky Television
    Sky Television
The broadcaster is reporting a 58 percent drop in net profit to 20.2 million-dollars for the year to June 30.

It comes as Sky strikes a five-year deal with New Zealand Rugby starting in January.

But Koi Tu Honorary Fellow Gavin Ellis says profit is not that important - considering revenue only dropped two-percent.

He says it actually did reasonably well considering the difficulties other media are having in the market.
