Calls for Government intervention on power bills - with predictions of another big bump

Calls for Government intervention on power bills - with predictions of another big bump

Consumer NZ has today forecast average energy prices will jump about five percent by May - largely pushed by rising lines charges.

It notes household bills already rose 12 percent last year.

Powerswitch manager Paul Fuge says he expects it'll be a hot topic this election.

He says their latest surveying found 67 percent of people expect the Government to take action.
