Matt Graham wins dual moguls bronze at the 2026 Winter Olympics

Matt Graham's medal is the third Australia’s moguls squad has delivered at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

Matt Graham has won Winter Olympic bronze in a chaotic dual moguls competition.

Graham out-pointed Japanese skier Takuya Shimakawa in the small final 20-15.

The medal is the third Australia's moguls squad has delivered at these Olympics.

For Graham, whose Beijing campaign was ruined by injury, the medal is a fitting reward for what is likely to be his last Olympics.

Ikuma Horishima, who beat Graham in the semifinals, crashed out in the big final to hand Canadian legend Mikaël Kingsbury a second career Olympic gold medal.

The Japanese skier was far from the only rider to crash out in a typically frenetic competition.

Singles gold medallist Cooper Woods was forced to abort his final jump in the round of 16.

Jackson Harvey and George Murphy also came unstuck — all on the trickier blue side of the course at that stage.

However, Graham made both sides his own with a precise, skilful display of moguls skiing.

Graham's only wobble came in the semi-final, falling just short against Horishima 21-14, despite the Aussie masterfully controlling his run on that trickier blue side.

Being on the blue course didn't hurt him in the final though, as Australia's flag bearer guided himself over the treacherous central moguls with expert precision to claim yet another medal.

It is Graham's second Olympic medal following his silver in PyeongChang in 2018.

It is Australia's fifth medal of the Games — the most ever at a single Winter Olympics.
