Jesy Nelson says her former Little Mix bandmates have "all reached out" since she gave birth

The 34-year-old star left the group in 2020 and has been open about her struggles in the limelight, but she has revealed Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have all sent "lovely" messages since she gave birth to nine-month-old twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, who were recently diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a rare muscle wasting disease.

Appearing on ITV's This Morning, she said: "They've all reached out. It's been lovely. I feel like it's very healing."

She admitted that everyone has "had time to heal" from any issues over the years, and Jesy feels much happier now.

She explained: "We were genuinely best friends. Things happen in life, it doesn't always go how you think it's going to.

"But I think - three of us are mums now, I think we've all had time to heal. It's been five years, nearly six years. It's just one of them things that takes time.

"Who knows what will happen? But since they've been reaching out, it's lovely. It's definitely healed a part of me, for sure."

The singer also pointed out that she did enjoy "being with the girls" and performing at the time, but there were other issues that forced her to quit.

She said: "For me, it was the constant comparison and scrutiny I used to get.

"From the get-go, I got that, from The X Factor. It never left me. I don't wanna constantly being like, 'I hated my time in Little Mix', because I had some of the best times of my life.

"But that part never left me, and that was the part I could never get over. I think, sometimes in life, as selfish as it may seem, you've gotta do what makes you happy. And that wasn't making me internally happy."

Jesy insisted if she could have eradicated those thoughts" from her mind, things might have been "different".

And while she is still dealing with tough times, particularly after health issues with her daughters, Jesy is "grateful" for where she is in life.

She added: "I'm not gonna sit here and be like, I'm top form. I'm still going through it. But I'm so grateful because I've got my two beautiful little girls.

"They're so strong, and they're the best thing that ever happened to me."
