The results of the two election day referenda will come well after we know who's likely in power

Kiwis will be voting on cannabis and euthanasia while at the ballot box on September 19.

But the Electoral Commission's confirmed that although we'll get preliminary election results from 7pm that night, initial referenda results will take almost two weeks.

They'll come out on October 2 ... with final results a week later.
