The death of three young sisters in Timaru has come with both shock and sadness

The death of three young sisters in Timaru has come with both shock and sadness

A 40 year old woman has been charged with murdering the three year old twins and their six year old sister on Thursday night.

Neighbours could hear wailing and sobbing when the girls were discovered.

Clinical Psychologist Rajna Bogdanovic says it's important people are aware of the emotional and physical aftershocks following an event like this.

She says people might feel a sense of anxiety or guilt ... or feelings of sadness and maybe even some social withdrawals.

The 40 year old woman will appear in court this morning.
