    A lack of consumer confidence is taking a bite out of demand for credit


    Centrix data shows lending demand in June was lower for the commercial and business sectors.

    Correspondingly, it means missed home loan payments are also down.

    Managing Director Keith McLaughlin says there's a major factor at play.

    He says if people don't have confidence in their ability to repay a loan, they won't borrow it.
