Paralympics 2024: Closing ceremony in Paris, Madison de Rozario wins marathon silver

Australia's flag-bearers James Turner and Lauren Parker have paraded around the Stade de France and Paris bids au revoir.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games has come to an end with a closing ceremony that defied the rain to produce a fitting conclusion to the event.

Filled with music, dance and theatre, the closing ceremony produced an inspiring message of inclusion and opportunity for all.

Australia's James Turner and Lauren Parker parade through the Stade de France with the flag-bearers of the other 168 represented nations and teams.

The closing ceremony was capped off with an electronic music performance, involving 24 DJs, including legendary French artist Jean-Michel Jarre.

On the final day of the competition, Madison de Rozario won Australia's final medal, claiming silver in the marathon.

Australia finished ninth in the medal tally in Paris, with 18 gold, 17 silver and 28 bronze.
