Thunderstorms may be in store for some parts of the country today

Thunderstorms may be in store for some parts of the country today

MetService's Hordur Thordarson says the east of the North Island could experience severe thunderstorms.

He says northern parts of the North Island are a bit sheltered but could have showers.

Thordarson says the best weather today will be the south of the South Island - but there may even be some showers there.
