Armand Duplantis sets new pole vault world record at 6.27m

Sweden's Armand Duplantis clears 6.27 metres on his first attempt at the All Star Perche meet in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Sweden's Armand Duplantis has set a new men's pole vault world record for the 11th time.

The Olympic and world champion cleared 6.27 metres on his first attempt at the All Star Perche meet in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

The clearance beat his previous best, and former world record, of 6.26m, which was set at an event in Silesia in August.

Emmanouil Karalis was second with a Greek record clearance of 6.02m as six men cleared 5.91m or higher for the first time in a single competition.

Duplantis set a new outdoor world record three times in 2024.

The second time was when he won his second Olympic gold medal with a record jump of 6.25m in Paris. He extended the world outdoor record by a centimetre to 6.26m in Poland on August 25.

Duplantis set a new indoor world record two weeks earlier, clearing 6.10m at the ISTAF Indoor meet in Berlin
