Renewable electricity generation hit highs in the last quarter

Renewable electricity generation hit highs in the last quarter

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment says a combination of increased refilling in hydro lakes, increased renewal energy generation, and reduced electricity demand, resulted in around 94 percent of all electricity coming from renewable sources.

As a result, quarterly emissions from electricity generation fell to the lowest levels since 2016.
