New Zealand First believes thousands of those signed up to KiwiSaver aren't actually contributing

New Zealand First believes thousands of those signed up to KiwiSaver aren't actually contributing

The party's announced at its annual conference in Palmerston North, it will campaign on compulsory employee and employer contributions rising to 10 percent.

It would initially increase to eight percent, before rising to ten.

Winston Peters says it'll provide a tax cut for those contributing to KiwiSaver, as well as the employer.

He says he's going to ensure it's phased in to a level, comparable to overseas, and wants to turn it into a super saving fund, and a super investment fund at the same time.
