Drake has traded his beloved champagne for beer steins after travelling to Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest in traditional style

The 38-year-old rapper, who goes by the handle Champagne Papi on Instagram, shared photos on the platform from the Munich festival over the weekend, showing himself dressed in a custom-made lederhosen alongside members of his entourage.

Each was seen holding large mugs of German beer.

Oktoberfest kicked off in mid-September and runs until early October, drawing millions of visitors each year.

Posting a series of images on Instagram, Drake captioned one set: "Munich nights. Oktoberfest vibes."

In another he could be seen smiling with friends at one of the festival's giant beer halls.

Fans flooded the comments with messages, with one writing: "Drake in lederhosen is something I never thought I'd see."

The appearance comes days after the death of music producer Sidney Brown, widely known as Omen, who collaborated with Drake on several projects.

Omen was found dead in his Harlem apartment on 13 September 2025 at the age of 49, according to his mother, Martha Brown.

Martha said: "We are heartbroken. Sidney was not only my son but a friend to so many. His music touched the world, and his heart touched everyone who knew him."

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, and police have said their investigation continues.

Omen's credits span some of the biggest names in hip hop and R and B.

He contributed to Ludacris' Grammy-winning 2006 album Release Therapy with the track Tell It Like It Is, worked with Drake on Shut It Down from the 2010 album Thank Me Later, and co-produced Beyoncé's Mine in 2013.

Local venues where Omen spent years performing also paid tribute.

Barawine Harlem, where he worked for more than a decade, said: "Omen was part of Barawine's team for over a decade bringing his unique talent to all. There are not enough words to express our feelings." Ethyl's Bar and Restaurant added: "Omen was not only a DJ who could get our dance floor jumping, but he was also a Grammy award-winning producer who worked with Beyoncé, Lil Wayne and many others."
