Stanley Tucci has teamed up with N.Peal for a new cashmere collection

The 64-year-old actor - who has been busy on set reprising his role as Nigel Kipling in the Devil Wears Prada sequel - has collaborate with the luxury brand on a new 13-piece range described as "a sartorial tribute to the joy of wanderlust".

Tucci told WWD: "As a boy, the idea of international travel was thrilling to me. "Movies like North by Northwest epitomised the Golden Age of Travel, when the journey was just as exciting and luxurious as the destination. "That sense of adventure is something that has always stayed with me.

"Since then, travel has become a huge part of my life, and this collection was inspired by the kind of pieces I always reach for when I travel: reliable, timeless and beautifully made. The exact pieces N.Peal excels at making." The collection uses Italian fabrics in a range of colours including pebble grey, olive and chocolate brown "with accents of Tucci Orange".

A navy utility jacket costs $1,950, with a knit blazer priced at $895, and a waterproof merino wool field jacket at $2,450.

At the other end of the scale, a waistcoast is available for $475.

With a wide range of pieces, Tucci isn't sure how to choose a favourite.

He added: "[It] depends on the occasion and the weather. It was important to me when we were designing the collection that we designed a collection that is versatile and timeless.

"So I hope when people buy a piece from this collection and wear it, that they'll feel, first of all, how beautifully it's made and that the materials are of the highest quality, but also that they should hopefully feel casual and elegant at the same time."

Meanwhile, N.Peal CEO Adam Holdsworth explained why bringing Tucci on board to help design the collection was an easy decision.

He said: "He's such a stylish, elegant man so we got in touch with his agent, who happened to be a customer of the brand.

"But more importantly, Stanley loved the idea and he loved the brand. So we moved forward."
