Bobby Moynihan watched The Lion King "every day for a year in college"

The 49-year-old comedian still cannot get enough of the beloved 1994 Disney animated classic film, which came out five years before he graduated from the University of Connecticut's School of Fine Arts.

Bobby revealed to People: "I have a very distinct memory, but it was a little late in life. The Lion King in college.

"I woke up every day for a year in college and watched The Lion King. I was a little too old. I probably should have been going to class.

"It was a lot of Lion King. I'll still do it to this day. It's the best, the best."

The Lion King follows cub Simba (Matthew Broderick), who is forced to leave the Pride Lands after his dad, Mufasa (James Earl Jones), is killed by his evil uncle Scar (Jeremy Irons) to claim the throne.

Years later, however, Simba returns home as a young lion and reclaims his rightful role as king.

And Bobby thinks the movie has "got a beautiful message".

The Saturday Night Live alum's dream is to play The Lion King's warm-hearted warthog Pumbaa in the film's stage musical.

Bobby said: "I would kill to do that [Broadway show]. I would play Pumbaa in that show in a second."

Meanwhile, the actor voices King George in the Disney Pixar film Hoppers.

Hoppers follows a girl called Mabel (Piper Curda) who uses new technology to transfer her mind into a robotic beaver to uncover a secret threat in the animal world.

And Bobby is thrilled to be starring in a Disney Pixar movie - especially one directed by his 47-year-old pal, Daniel Chong.

He told The Upcoming: "Daniel Chong, the director-and-creator of the movie, I've known him for years.

"We worked on a cartoon called We Bare Bears together, and just the fact that this is his movie and I get to be in it, I can't believe it.

"I'm having a lot of Pixar insanity right now. I'm a very, very lucky boy."

Bobby - who has been married to actress Brynn O'Malley since 2016 - lauded the animation of Hoppers.

He added: "It's beautiful. It's stunning. The way that they did the animation, the fur and the leaves.

"I keep saying to my wife, I want to do an animation pass, or like, just like a nature pass where I just go, 'Don't go like, 'Oh my gosh, do I sound good?' Or I just go, 'Oh, wow, look at that.' ?Or watch everything in the glade and just watch the pond exist."
