Calls for information following a serious attack on a man in Wellington CBD overnight last night

Police were called to reports of a group of people fighting in the New World Chaffers carpark, off Wakefield Street.

Four men were taken into custody for fighting and disorderly behaviour.

A fifth man, with serious injuries, was taken to Wellington Hospital.

He is in a stable condition.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
