The sudden death of Sean Wainui has rocked the Waikato NPC rugby side

Wainui played for the Chiefs, and shared the locker room with many current Waikato players such as Ollie Norris and Xavier Roe.

The Mooloos are currently based in a bubble, and their coach Ross Filipo says there's a slight silver lining to that.



Waikato take on Hawke's Bay in Napier this evening, which will be the Bay's final Ranfurly Shield defence of the year.
