A man's been charged with murder - over Wednesday's fatal bus attack in Auckland, and Government officials are meeting urgently today discussing public safety

The 37-year-old's appearing in court - on charges including murder, threatening to kill, assault, and burglary.

Ministers will also discuss public transport security concerns with Police and Auckland Transport today.

Transport Minister Simeon Brown says they'll look at finding solutions, using existing resources and budgets.

That could include using available funding to toll out screens for bus drivers faster than currently planned.
