Te Hikoi mo te Tiriti has reached the Wellington district, after leaving Palmerston North around midday

Te Hikoi mo te Tiriti has reached the Wellington district, after leaving Palmerston North around midday

Around 2,500 people marched in Palmerston North.

Police say no significant problems have been reported, and a pre-arranged traffic management plan allowed traffic to continue to flow.

Earlier, NZTA said State Highway 1 through Levin was blocked in both directions, but it has since reopened.

Hikoi participants are staying in Porirua tonight ahead of a protest at Parliament on Tuesday.

Heavier traffic is expected in Wellington City and Porirua ahead of that.
