Peter Capaldi found it "lovely" to work with his wife on 'Criminal Record'

The 66-year-old actor first met Elaine Collins - who he wed 33 years ago - through work but he relished the chance to work on her Apple TV+ thriller as it was the producer's first project she had also created that he was asked to be involved with

He told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "It was lovely to work with her.

"We did a film years ago and a play - we met doing a play - but this was the first time I'd acted in a show that she'd created, so it was nice."

The 'Devil's Hour' actor played in punk bands when he was a student and he's planning to return to where he "left off" with an album he's set to release in the spring.

He said: "I just have fun, that's all. I'm just one of those men who likes to play the electric guitar.

    "I could be a dad's band, really.

"The album is picking up where I left off.

"It's very synthy, guitar, kind of pre-goth Glaswegian melancholy, from the early 80s.

"I'm not trying to be a pop star. I just really, really enjoy it."

Peter famously played the Twelfth Doctor in 'Doctor Who' and recently reflected on how "incredible" it was to star in the sci-fi series because of the love fans have for the character.

Peter told RadioTimes.com: "It was just an incredible experience. Suddenly, you're in the middle of this fantastical world, surrounded by people who love 'Doctor Who'.

"I was watching Tom Baker (who played the Fourth Doctor) talking about something, and he said that when he was Doctor Who, he would do tons and tons of publicity and stuff, because being Doctor Who was much more fun than being Tom Baker, and I would say the same, probably, being Doctor Who is much more fun than being me.

"Certainly, you're in a very privileged position, because you receive the affection for that character. It is a character, it's not me, and it's a delightful place to be. It would be a hard part to sustain. I think, forever, but you do see the best of people, which is lovely."
