Thirty homes won't have power another night - from about 150 remaining outages after a tornado tore through Northland's Mangawhai early yesterday

Northpower hoped to fully reinstate power by 5pm but the damage was worse than first thought.

Kaipara Mayor Craig Jepson says a transformer still needs replacing.

The tornado injured two people; nine buildings are yellow stickered; and another 26 with white stickers are possibly damaged, but safe to use.
