Media company NZME -- the owner of Newstalk ZB and the Herald -- is reporting a full year net loss of 16-million dollars

Media company NZME -- the owner of Newstalk ZB and the Herald -- is reporting a full year net loss of 16-million dollars

Operating revenue is up two-percent, but earnings are down 3.6 percent.

It's been a tough year for the media industry, with the closure of Newshub and major cutbacks at TVNZ.

But NZME Chief Executive Michael Boggs says the company's performing well, with real estate website One Roof seeing a 51-percent increase in digital revenue.

The company's in the process of cutting about 30 newsroom roles.
