    All three game threes in today's first-round NBA playoffs went the way of the home teams


    The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Los Angeles Lakers 116 to 104 in Minnesota to get their noses in front - 2-1 in the best-of-seven western conference series.

    Earlier, the Orlando Magic beat the visiting Boston Celtics 95-93 to cut the champions' lead to 2-1 in their eastern match-up.

    The Milwaukee Bucks also won their game three against the Indiana Pacers 117 to 101 in the east to trail the series 2-1.
