Cordons are up around a home in Auckland's Ponsonby - where a person was found dead last night

Police are labelling the Renall Street death a homicide - and have a person in custody.

The Herald's Rachel Maher is at the scene.

She says Police are investigating - and are boosting their local presence today.

They aren't looking for anyone in relation to the incident - and it hasn't been revealed what happened or how the person died.
