    More cost-of-living pressure for households


    Latest Stats NZ figures show power prices have increased 10.4 percent in the past year, and the cost of gas went up 16.4.

    Overall food prices are up 4.6 percent.

    Infometrics Principal Economist Brad Olsen says the price of many key items is rising quickly, pushed by growing demand around the world.

    That includes dairy products like butter, but also beef products like mince and steak.
