Emergency departments across the country will receive a helping hand, to increase frontline staff, over the next nine months

Emergency departments across the country will receive a helping hand, to increase frontline staff, over the next nine months

Health Minister Simeon Brown's announced 20-million-dollars from Health New Zealand's one-billion-dollar annual uplift will go towards EDs.

He says under the Labour Government, ED performance fell from 89-percent in 2017 to less than 68-percent in 2023.

Brown says performance is already turning around - but more frontline staff is important, to relieve pressure on hospitals.
