The fate of double murder accused Hakyung Lee is about to be in the hands of the jury

The fate of double murder accused Hakyung Lee is about to be in the hands of the jury

The 45-year-old's on trial at the High Court in Auckland charged with murdering her two young children in 2018.

Their bodies were found in suitcases from an abandoned storage unit four years later.

Lee's representing herself, but an insanity defence has been raised on her behalf by defence lawyers acting as standby counsel.

Both the prosecution, and Lee's defence closed their cases yesterday.

Justice Geoffrey Venning's due to summarise the case for the jury today, after two weeks worth of evidence.

The jury will then be sent to deliberate.
