A vaccinologist says the Trump administration is undermining public health for political gain

A vaccinologist says the Trump administration is undermining public health for political gain

The US President has stated without evidence that childhood vaccines should be spaced out rather than taking them all at once.

He's also repeated a discredited connection between the vaccine schedule and autism.

Auckland University Vaccinologist Helen Petousis-Harris says it's been studied extensively and there's never been a link made.

She says vaccine misinformation is having a devastating effect - leading to a reduction in vaccine trust and uptake.
