South Auckland residents now have to rebuild after a tornado blew through the area

The tornado hit the Papatoetoe area this morning causing flying trampolines, lifting roofs and breaking windows.

Fire and Emergency Crews were out today assessing damage and keeping people away from fallen power lines.

Auckland Assistant Area Commander Steve Sosich says people still need to be careful.

He says anyone repairing their own houses should take care.
