The Health Research Council's dished out 12-million dollars, to fund a swathe of Otago studies

The Health Research Council's dished out 12-million dollars, to fund a swathe of Otago studies

That includes a collaboration between university researchers and Health New Zealand, on developing an effective and equitable lung cancer screening pathway.

Five-million dollars will go towards building on research, ongoing since 2018.

Professor Sue Cringle says the screenings look at those with high risk of developing lung cancer.

She says it specifically targets asymptomatic people.
