Cyclist Ally Wollaston's won gold at the track world championships in Denmark

Cyclist Ally Wollaston's won gold at the track world championships in Denmark

She's powered to victory in the elimination race - holding off two-time champion Lotte Kopecky and three-time bronze medallist Jennifer Valente in the discipline.

Wollaston says the win is sweeter, given the calibre of competitors she overcame.

Several riders competing in other disciplines - including sprinter Ellesse Andrews - have skipped the event, opting for an extended break two months on from the Paris Olympics.
