Yungblud "found solace in being similar" to Ozzy Osbourne

The 27-year-old star is a long-time fan of the Black Sabbath frontman, and he's paid a glowing tribute to Ozzy, 76, ahead of the band's farewell gig at Villa Park in Birmingham

Yungblud - whose real name is Dominic Harrison - told The Independent: "Since I can remember, Ozzy has always been a part of my life.

"I grew up around rock music, and he was a character to me before I even knew anything about him. I remember his hair, I remember his massive mouth, I remember his glasses from when I was three years old.

"If you know me and my family, we're truly f****** loud - they used to call us The Osbournes. So, I kind of found solace in being similar to them.

"Growing up watching The Osbournes and the madness, I was always like that. I was always out there and crazy. To see someone being so loved and accepted with all their madness ... I really found solace in a figure like Ozzy."

Yungblud thinks they're actually very similar, even though they make different kinds of music.

The 11 Minutes hitmaker said: "We're very similar.

"Even though we don't necessarily make the same kind of music, we kind of represent the same thing. Being out there and thinking outside the box is what we're both known for."

Meanwhile, Toni Iommi has confessed to feeling "nervous" ahead of Black Sabbath's farewell gig.

The upcoming show will mark the first time that the original line-up - which includes Toni, Ozzy, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward - will have played together in 20 years.

Speaking to BBC Midlands Today, Toni admitted: "We're all nervous really."

Ozzy is only expected to sing four songs due to ongoing health issues, and Toni admits that their preparations for the show haven't been easy.

He said: "I wouldn't say it's been easy, it's been tough, because none of us are getting younger and to stand there for a couple of hours is tiring."

Toni also admits that playing Villa Park will be a unique experience for the band.

He said: "This is totally different from anything else we've done, you know we've played for 300,000 people but this is nerve-wracking."
