    The summertime can bring about a surge in injury claims - as more people get stuck into work around the home


    Last year, ACC accepted almost 23 thousand DIY-related injury claims - costing 41 million dollars.

    Injury prevention leader James Whitaker says the best advice is to slow down and have a think.

    He says a lot of injuries can be prevented if you take a moment to assess the risks.

    Whitaker says ACC wants people turning hindsight into foresight - so the injuries don't happen in the first place.
