    Moana Pasifika coach Tana Umaga's addressed a diminished player pool this season


    The five foundation Super Rugby sides have increased their squads to 50 via the offer of wider training contracts.

    That is a New Zealand governing body-led initiative, so doesn't include the Pacific Islands franchises.

    Umaga says they've adapted accordingly.



    Umaga says they've also signed Australian-based talent, and a handful of league recruits.
