A landmark, Auckland University-led study shows paracetamol and ibuprofen an safely by administered to young children.
Previous research suggested a potential link between paracetamol use and later eczema, asthma and other diseases.
Lead Researcher Professor Stuart Dalziel says this new data shows side effects are rare.
He says it gives paediatricians, GPs and families needed reassurance the medications are safe.
